Nathan's Story
Life
After high school, I spent a year in community college then joined the Navy. I met my wife, Linda, year the end of my four years in the service. We stayed in Long Beach for a few years and then moved back to my home town, Mesquite, Texas, where we've lived ever since. We have three sons. The oldest, Josh, is a teacher and the twins, Chris and Brian, are currently pursing college degrees in Music Education.
I spent a number of years following the Navy working in shipping. During this time, I earned an Associate Degree in Drafting and Design and subsequently went to work for the Texas Dept of Transportation as a civil draftsman. My job involved comput...Expand for more
er-aided drafting and design and I discovered I have a strong aptitude for computer systems and programming.
While with TXDOT, I earned an Bachelors Degree in Computer Systems Management. In 1990, I joined Cap Gemini America as a consultant where I worked for 5 years. In 1995, I joined the company that had been my primary client for several years, MBNA. I currently work for MBNA as a software architect.
Having raised our family, my wife and I are now enjoying our "empty nest"... spending our time on sailing, amatuer astronomy, and traveling. Not having "enough to keep me busy", I've recently returned to school and am pursing an MS in Information Systems.
